Jeanne Holm is the Deputy Mayor for Finance and Innovation of the City of Los Angeles, addressing technology, equity, digital inclusion, fiscal accountability, and digital transformation of services. She was the evangelist for open data for the U.S. Government under President Obama and architect for Data.gov, the lead for the World Bank’s Africa open data initiative, and the Chief Knowledge Architect at NASA creating innovative systems to help scientists collaborate and to share NASA’s discoveries with the world. She serves as an advisor for the U.N. on data and astronautics, is a Trustee of Claremont Graduate University, and teaches at UCLA.

Predicting What We Breathe
The City of Los Angeles is working with NASA in predicting air quality in environmental justice neighborhoods. Using convolutional networks and neural networks, the machine learning algorithms are showing 92% or better prediction capability. This project has been open sourced with other cities around the world.
