Finding the Problem to Solve: Human-centered AI
Creating models can be tedious and time-consuming, almost to the point where both data scientists and business leaders forget the users altogether. AI products are the most valuable when insightfully designed to satisfy the needs of their users. Remembering to bring users into the conversation helps keep us on track to build a product that users actually want, rather than just AI for the sake of AI.
*Quick Intro to UX+AI. UX starts with identifying a problem to solve, and spending time empathizing with users before jumping to a solution. Then iterating on that solution with users before investing in development.
*Case study: How empathizing with users helped guide an AI solution.
*UX+AI Best Practices: Minimal fidelity model testing with users. Explain how the "Wizard of Oz" technique is used to manually mock input and response of a model with users in order to measure value-add.
Adding customer feedback to your development cycles can shorten feedback loops and help you accelerate product-market fit. AI has the power to make our lives better and more enjoyable, but only if we think about the humans that will be using it.
