Despite several calls to increase gender representation in the workforce disproportionality in hiring, retention, and promotions remain broad in the workforce. This has lowered belonging among women. We expand on research on barriers faced by women in the first year of their STEM careers, and recommend ways in which teams, managers, and allies can help increase belonging among women at work.
