The best data professions ask creative questions to connect perspectives with clean data to drive impactful decisions that create value. These different perspectives give context on how to prioritize data and make better decisions. Without context we only have half the picture. With only half the picture we are likely to draw the wrong conclusions. This leads to damaging and sometimes costly outcomes.
This talk will review multiple real-world scenarios in the financial technology (FinTech) industry on how a breakdown in collaboration and business context led to negative consequences including reputational damage and years of financial oversight. We will also navigate how these situations could have been managed differently to achieve better outcomes.
