Xavier Kochhar

CEO, XKE Capital and Advisory Founder, The Video Genome Project (hulu)

Xavier Kochhar is the CEO of XKE Capital and Advisory, a media investment and integration firm that injects capital and resources into media, technology, and AI companies and identifies where value is moving and capture it through capital, strategy, go-to-market, and revenue generation. Over the last 25+ years, Xavier has held multiple investment and operational c-suite seats, overseeing operations, finance, corporate strategy and development in those roles. He has been both a buyer and seller of content and structured data, as well as a buyer and seller of companies.

Xavier was the founder and CEO of The Video Genome Project, one of the first generative AI companies and LLMs in Hollywood. The personalization engine and user experience company built the largest, broadest, and most granular structured database of video content, by developing a method of finding and creating deep, relevant and granular information on video content (film, tv, online video), programmatically. These granular pieces of altogether new metadata, or “genes”, were then used to provide hyper-personalized recommendations and targeted content to consumers. Because of its accuracy and simplicity in the video discovery process, the company became known as “the Google of video”. The Video Genome Project was acquired by hulu (Disney) to create a more powerful way to surface the right content to the right user at the right time, in both live and on-demand environments.

Xavier was also the Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery (then WarnerMedia) Direct-to-Consumer division (HBO Max) and later in the parent company’s (AT&T Inc.) Corporate Strategy and M&A group. Xavier was also the COO and CFO of digital content studio pocket.watch, home to some of the world's biggest YouTube and TikTok creators. Prior, he was the first Managing Partner and part of the initial management team at Medialink, acq. by United Talent Agency (UTA), and has served in senior executive roles at The Walt Disney Company, WME, and L.E.K. Consulting. He began his career as an investment banker, doing M&A, private placements, and IPOs for media and technology companies at Royal Bank of Canada.
