The SmartAirLA real-time alerts identify when and where an asthma attack is likely to happen so that asthma patients can better manage their asthma, avoid pollution hotspots, and advocate for cleaner air. We will discuss how we use data analytics as a force for health equity and environmental justice in the face of data abuse by private companies and law enforcement agencies. This includes:
*Community-centered design process with an extraordinary partnership with safety-net healthcare and advocacy organizations.
*Code of Conduct to protect user data privacy and prevent discrimination.
*Stop data abuse by private companies and law enforcement agencies to target underserved populations.
