Data Migration Lessons from the Trenches

Migrating from one database to another sounds simple enough, until you start doing it. Our recent project got challenging quickly as we discovered how much data we needed to move, how small a time window, how different MongoDB is from Amazon's DocumentDB, and that off-the-shelf tools did not address all the issues.
