Staff Software Engineer at Riot Games
Kunal is an engineer of large scale game backends and other distributed architectures. He started his career at NASA JPL and LROC scaling services to millions of requests and then transitioned to gaming. At ThatGameCompany he scaled Sky to 1MM+ concurrent players at peak, transitioning from Postgres to MongoDB Atlas, and presented at Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2022 (Sky's Journey to 1MM CCU: A Cloud Native Approach To Scaling). Today Kunal works as a staff engineer at Riot Games on Valorant Core Services focusing on scale and running agnostically across public and private clouds. He also develops his own Games in Unreal Engine C++.
